Definitions

This Privacy Policy describes how information is collected, used, and handled when You play Haunt Jam.

Haunt Jam is an online cooperative horror-comedy game that allows players to create or join multiplayer sessions, communicate using voice chat, record in-game footage, and maintain persistent game progress.

We respect Your privacy and are committed to handling information responsibly and transparently.

By using the Service, You acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Words whose initial letters are capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. These definitions shall have the same meaning whether they appear in singular or plural.

Personal Data

Haunt Jam does not require You to create a traditional user account with the Company.

We do not intentionally require You to provide information such as:

  • Your legal name

  • Home address

  • Telephone number

  • Government identification number

Certain information may nevertheless be processed automatically by third-party infrastructure providers when You use online multiplayer or voice communication features. The information processed may include technical identifiers, network information, and other information necessary to establish and maintain online multiplayer sessions.

Haunt Jam supports online cooperative multiplayer for up to four players. Players may create or join a multiplayer session using a room or session code. To provide multiplayer functionality, certain technical information may be processed by online infrastructure services.

This information may include:

  • Session identifiers

  • Player connection identifiers

  • Network information

  • Lobby information

  • Connection status

  • Session membership information

Haunt Jam uses online networking infrastructure to establish and maintain multiplayer sessions. Multiplayer sessions may be hosted or coordinated through third-party service infrastructure.

We do not use multiplayer connection information to independently identify You outside the operation of the Service.

Haunt Jam includes built-in voice communication features. When You use voice chat, Your voice audio may be transmitted to other players participating in the same multiplayer session.

Voice communication is used to enable real-time communication between players. Depending on the technical infrastructure used to provide voice communication, Voice Data and related technical information may be processed by a third-party voice communication provider.

Other players in Your multiplayer session may hear Your voice when voice communication is enabled. You should not communicate sensitive Personal Data through voice chat. Haunt Jam provide features that allow players to mute other players or control voice communication settings.

Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the Service, the Company does not intentionally record or permanently store Your voice communications.

Haunt Jam contains an in-game recording mechanic that allows players to use a virtual handycam to record gameplay events.

These recordings may capture:

  • The game environment

  • In-game characters

  • Other player characters

  • In-game events

  • Gameplay interactions

The recording system is part of the core gameplay experience and is used by the fictional in-game HauntTube system. In-game recordings are gameplay content generated within the Application.

Based on the current design of the Service, recordings and persistent gameplay content are stored locally on the host Device. The fictional HauntTube upload feature is an in-game gameplay system. Uploading a video to HauntTube does not mean that the recording is uploaded to a real public video-sharing platform or made publicly accessible on the Internet.

Unless a separate sharing feature is explicitly provided, the Company does not automatically publish Your in-game recordings to external websites or social media platforms.

Players are responsible for any content they independently record, capture, stream, or distribute using external software or platform features.

We may use information processed through the Service for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service

  • To establish and maintain multiplayer sessions

  • To provide voice communication features

  • To preserve local game progress

  • To operate gameplay systems

  • To diagnose technical problems

  • To investigate crashes and errors

  • To maintain the security and stability of the Service

  • To prevent abuse or misuse of online functionality

  • To improve the performance and reliability of the Service

  • To comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use Your locally stored Game Data for targeted advertising. We do not sell Your Personal Data.

We may use third-party Service Providers to provide technical infrastructure required by Haunt Jam. These services may include multiplayer networking, lobby management, relay networking, and voice communication infrastructure.

Based on the current technical implementation, Haunt Jam uses Unity technologies and services for certain game and online functionality, including multiplayer infrastructure and voice communication.

These Service Providers may process technical information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable data protection requirements.

The Company does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party Service Providers.

We encourage You to review the privacy policies of applicable third-party providers.

We may share or allow information to be processed in the following circumstances:

  • With Service Providers: We may use Service Providers to operate multiplayer networking, voice communication, diagnostics, and other technical functionality.

  • With Other Players: Information or communications that You intentionally transmit through multiplayer or voice chat may be accessible to other players participating in the same session.

  • For Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request.

  • To Protect Rights and Safety: We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, security, or safety of the Company, users of the Service, or the public.

  • For Business Transactions: If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of assets, information associated with the Service may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

  • With Your Consent: We may disclose information for another purpose with Your consent.

Locally stored Game Data may remain on Your Device until:

  • You delete the relevant save data

  • You delete the Application and its associated data

  • The Application removes or overwrites the data

  • The Device or storage system removes the data

The Company does not independently retain locally stored Game Data on Company-operated servers when that data is only stored on Your Device.

Technical information processed by third-party Service Providers may be retained according to their respective data retention practices and legal obligations.

We retain information under Our control only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by applicable law.

Some Service Providers used by Haunt Jam may operate infrastructure in countries outside Your country of residence.

As a result, technical information associated with multiplayer, networking, or voice communication may be processed in other jurisdictions.

The data protection laws of those jurisdictions may differ from the laws applicable in Your location.

Where required, reasonable measures will be used to ensure that information is handled in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.

The security of Your information is important to Us. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed through the Service.

However, no method of electronic storage, network communication, or Internet transmission is completely secure. Therefore, while We strive to use reasonable measures to protect information, We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Players should also be aware that voice communications and multiplayer interactions involve communication with other users.

Do not disclose passwords, financial information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive information to other players.

The Service may use or interact with third-party services. Third-party services operate according to their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security practices of independent third-party services.

We encourage You to review the privacy policies of third-party services associated with Your use of the Service.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When We make changes, We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

Where required by applicable law or where changes are material, We may provide additional notice through the Service or another appropriate communication method.
